Models I Liked 2007

Model I liked in a video...Hands down, the beautiful model Annie Klarinaz was smoking hot in Akons "Dont Matter" video. See more of her on H20-Hip Hop On Demand.

Videos I Liked With Alot of Models...There were so many out this year, but the ones I liked the best were that Young Berg's "Sexy Lady" Remix, Rich Boy's "Good Things" and Akon's "I Want to Love You".

Supermodels I Liked...Heidi Klum was a knockout in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year, and I didn't know she could sing until I saw the routine with her husband Seal.Tyra Banks was doing her thing this year, enough to be named Woman of the Year by OK Magazine. Naomi Campbell out of trouble this year, and got a new gig as a journalist with GQ!

Jet Magazine Beauties I Liked...Of course I was glad my girls Devorne Wade and Vannette Tolbert were in Jet, and I hope to see more of them in the New Year. I'd also love to see more of Lebrina Johnson, Sonoma Gordon, Topaz Thompson and Sydney Nicole Livingston!

Smooth Magazine Girls I Liked....Many beautiful models were in Smooth Magazine this year, but three of them were my favorites.Leonie Nicole was overwhelming, Ksyn was breathtaking in her Brazilian bikini, and I'd love to see more of the model Geri!

Magazine Cover I Liked...Coco's (Ice-T's wifey) cover of the January issue of Smooth Magazine was amazing. She practically stared me down every time I saw the magazine until I just had to buy it!

Magazine I Liked...Hands down, the best was The Show Magazine. Every time it came out, I just had to have it before it sold out. I especially liked the Latina issue.

America's Next Top Model contestant I liked...My favorite ANTM contestant was Bianca. She was sexy, sassy, lovely and bitchy at the same time. Not only did she make the show more interesting, but she had to have been the hottest contestant I have seen. I defintely want to see more of her in 2008.

Urban Model I Liked....Angel Lola Luv was everywhere this year; the XXL Magazine Eye Candy of the Year, the focus of her own magazine put together by the people behind Black Men's Magazine, on the cover of KING, #2 in the Smooth Girls 2007 list, in videos and everything. This was a banner year for Miss Angel.

Stories of the year....Kudos to model Brooke Bailey for speaking up on NPR about what she does as a music video model. This came after the nasty Don Imus comment and the whole hip hop debate that resulted. Check out the Brooke Bailey segment on NPR.

That's it for this year. Happy New Year!

Models in the news....

VIDEO: Vida Guerra’s Hot Butt Her best feature is her butt! The pics of her naked body got on the Internet after they were stolen from her cell phone. Read more on Javno.

Congratulations to Tyra Banks for being woman of the year by OK! Magazine...check out the story here.

Style Watch in Post Gazette-10 fashion statements worth revisiting!

Very stupid story from Media Take Out-evidence that Angel Lola Luv's booty is fake? Of course its real...I think. But that's my girl for real anyways so it dont make a difference whether it is or isn't.

Naomi-journalist?

This story about Naomi Campbell getting into journalism is interesting. Apparently she will be working for GQ Magazine and meeting with controversial high profile figures Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. The end result of that will probably be a top story in 2008 if it happens. Being that those two are on the USA's s--t list, and Fidel is on his way out in Cuba, and even though Naomi is from Britain, what comes of that will be relevant. More about this story on Javno!Plus, I like this picture of Naomi in that "peace" t-shirt. That shirt is hot, and Naomi makes it hotter. Pic from Javno.

Season's Greetings:meet Cyn!

Cyn is the beautiful, radiant Haitian model from Brooklyn NY. What I like about Cyn is she is what I call "beautifully mixed"; and exotic mixture of Dominican and white as well. This mixture along with her skin tone and mesmerizing eyes make her irresistable! Cyn is all over the net, but I first saw her on Myspace. However, you will find out by reading below that she's more than just a model with a pretty face and a bomb body. Holler at this model on Myspace, and say Season's Greetings to the versatile Cyn!

First of all, where are you from and what city, state or town are you representing? Brooklyn NY Baby!

What are your measurements? 34-24-36

Your look is really exotic. What is your ethnic background? My family is originally from Haiti, we have a few mixes here and there though (Dominican, white)

Why did you want to become a model? Its always been something I've wanted to do! It looks so glamorous and like a lot of fun so I gave it a try!

If you were single and somebody set you up on a blind date, and you got the prospects phone # and called him before the date, how would you describe yourself and what would you tell him would be a good reason to date you? I would describe myself as an Exotic beauty! And a good reason to date is that I AM different from the other girls although I'm sure they all say that.

I'm sure the fellas want to know-are you single or taken? SINGLE and mingling and loving every minute of it!

Who is your greatest influence and what help you to decide that you would love to be a model, and what do you bring to the modeling field or game? My greatest influence I would have to say, my mom. She keeps me confident and grounded.

What do you like to do in your free time? Free time I like to travel, Read, watch TV and hang out with friends.

Where is your favorite vacation spot? I love Miami, after that I'd have to say Cabo Mexico.

If you were a piece of candy, what would it be and why? Red hot's! B/c I'm sweet and spicy!!!

What was your first kiss like? My first kiss was wet and sloppy

Another question I’m sure the fellas will want to know, what are you most likely to wear to the beach? Well to the beach it's definitely a sexy 2 piece To bed? Nothing To the club, if you go to clubs? To the club some thing form fitting, sexy and revealing.

What is your most defining feature? Well I'd say my lips and eyes are what most people notice first and compliment me on all the time.

Being as beautiful as you are, you must get a lot of attention day to day. How do you deal with all that attention? Well as overwhelming annoying and innappropriate as it can be @ times I stay grounded and try to be as nice as possible.

What's the worst opening line you have heard? "Your parents must be 2 nickels because your a dime "

If you had a choice, what magazine would you be on the cover of? KING

If you had a choice of videos, which one would you be in? A dirty south crunk video or would you go R&B? As much as I love that crunk music I'd have to go with R&B. I'd be the sexy leading lady in the video.

What is your favorite part about being a model? Being pretty, sexy and being able to work with different people on a regular basis.

Which do you prefer, runway modeling or just photo shoots? I definitely prefer photo shoot, most ppl don't know this but I am VERY shy, obviously I have to swallow my fear and do what I have to do but I definitely prefer the privacy of a regular shoot.

What’s the best advice ever given to you and what are your goals in terms of being a model? Be patient and things will fall into place

Who do you prefer, Tyra or Naomi? Definitely Tyra

I've seen you on Myspace, are you on any other sites? Modelmayhem, Modelcoast, MoBounce (sept/oct issue pg 30-39) , WWSMag, Got-Dammag, and Blackcuties.

ANTM-and the winner is Saliesha!

I'm not summarizing the last show, because it went so fast. One model gone, then the winner. But I am glad that Saliesha won! Despite the controversey (people saying she cheated, she worked with Tyra etc.) I think that she was the best one! Still got love for Bianca though. Was this season the best? Nope. Hopefully the next ANTM season will be better.

Buffie the Body: When assets become liabilities

Can believe I found a picture of Buffie actually sitting, not showing her booty! Check out this article and picture I found about Buffie the Body by Ben Westhoff in Creative Loafing. Here's a sample....

Betty Grable had her legs, Pamela Anderson has her breasts, and Buffie "the Body" Carruth seems to have the whole world in her pants.

Carruth's 45-inch derriere has turned the Athens, Ga., native and former stripper into an international celebrity. Men from all over the world order her DVDs and pin-up calendars, and her MySpace inbox is constantly flooded with marriage proposals – not to mention other, more immodest requests. Every month she crisscrosses the country to make appearances at bars, nightclubs, racetracks or anywhere else willing to pay her $3,000-$4,000 appearance fee. But along the way she has come to embody what critics view as rampant sexism and exploitation in hip-hop culture.

As half-naked, bootylicious women became a staple of modern rap videos over the last decade, the line between video model and groupie got blurred. Though Carruth defends her industry and denies being exploited, she regularly receives mail from people who allege she's a poor role model whose actions perpetuate age-old stereotypes about black women.
Check out the rest and comment on this on Creative Loafing.

My favorite contestant, Bianca is gone.....

The girls enter all laughing and smiling, and they get a “Heather Mail”, and they read it, and she refers to the girls as her “family”. Bianca comments, positively I might add. The girls go to Bejing. Kevin, their tour guide, gives them a tour, and Bianca is learning a lot. Bianca wants Jeenah to shut up from being so “perky”. Miss Jay comes in one of those Chinese wagons. Twiggy and Miss Jay introduce the next challenge and 4 Chinese beauties with really hot Chinese names (Dio Chan, Xi Shi, Yang Guifei, Wang Zhaojun) Bianca sees this and she is like wanting it to end! Its not her thing, but when in China, you know the rest. She’s blown by the scenery though, and then by the new living quarters.

The next Tyra mail refers to China’s Great Wall. The girls all put on the outfits of the four beauties specified earlier. Twiggy and Miss Jay give them a challenge and money to buy new stuff to make them look hot! Bianca gets shoes and a nice bag. Bianca then goes to the other side of the mall, and deceives Jeenah, taking her out of the mall to nowhere. Bianca, what is wrong with you? Jeenah is trying to find what Bianca told her about. Jeenah finally realizes that you can’t trust Bianca, and she responds by saying to herself “That bitch”. The girls find out they will be in 17 Magazine if they win a walk contest to practice rippin’ the runway. Bianca’s walk was seen as a cute idea. Jeenah’s walk flowed. Saliesha needed more personality. Chantal did good with her yellow shoes. Jeenah ended up winning, and she picked Chantal to share with her the prize. Bianca does not care; she realizes it was her actions that were to blame but she is fierce!

Chantal is trying on Asian dresses. Miss Jay gives her walking tips. The next Tyra mail is a reference to outer space. Bianca just knows she will win. She doesn’t want to leave until she wins. Jeenah starts tripping and getting crazy, because she misses her friends and stuff. Saliesha gets all giggly about the Great Wall, while Bianca says that she is “feeding off their energy”, whatever that means. They met Miss Jay, and the photographer turns out to be Tyra! She says she wants strong faces. Though their hair is changed, Jeenah is feeling pressure. Tyra is a soldier! Bianca is thinking of Bianca! Jeenah, she’s just whining, and she’s nervous. Her desire to win ultimately wins out. Chantal feels good about her shoot; and she does work it! Bianca realizes that she has to impress Tyra. Though Tyra gives her a lot of direction, her photos were struggling in the first couple of frames. Saliesha catches the shoot well, embodying the “Crouching Falcon” ideal, utilizing the environment and creativity. Now the girls take a picture together. Bianca needs to work her chin. Bianca gets mad at Saliesha for putting her bun in her face. Bianca feels bad about what went down today, but she feels Chantal is bland, Saliesha does live up to her experience, and Jeenah is still just trippen’.

Eliminations:

Jenah- She’s acting in the picture, but she’s getting lost in the outfit, and nothing stood out to make Tyra remember the shoot. She starts whining about being homesick, and gives her “swan song” speech, as the judges called it. She stood out in the group shoot.

Chantal-She took the picture to the next level; she relaxed and did it! Her photo was deemed by the judges to be the strongest. Her eyes looked away from the camera in the group shoot.

Saliesha-She looked beautiful and did a good job! In the group shoot, she was in the center.

Bianca-This is my favorite of the series as far as contestants go, but I have to agree that she was extremely awkward and second guessed herself. Bianca explained that she improved, and Tyra agreed that she did come a long way, but the picture was just alright. The judges noticed Bianca’s eyes in the group shoot. In the end, they felt she was the least natural model, and takes too long to learn (wow, what a difference 1 photo shoot makes in this series) As a result, she was eliminated. Though I didn’t want to see this happen, Bianca is going to do bigger and better things!

Smooth Girl 200

Just got the ever popular "Holiday Special Edition" of Smooth Magazine. In it are pictures of Deelishis. The bloggers at Bossip come to the conclusion that her booty is real. I never questioned it, but on the real I never thought about it to begin with!

In the holiday edition also comes my favorite part, the Smooth Girl 100! Most urban models know that the Smooth Girl 100 is very important to their careers; its like a who's who of Urban models! The top 10 are the basic, most famous urban models (and some celebrities who just look good):
1) Coco
2) Deelishis
3) Angel
4) Vida Guerra
5) Buffie the Body
6) Maliah
7) Esther Baxter
8) Melyssa Ford
9) Gloria Velez
10)Layla El

Also in Smooth is a pictorial of the beautiful and voluptous Leonie Nicole. She says she doesn't consider herself a model, but Im sure most of us agree, she's a model for real. Holler at me Leonie if you want an interview! Check out more pics of her at BlackJackSkanz!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Check out this clip from the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! Also, check out this funny breakdown of the show on IFilm! Funny quote:
Anybody notice Heidi Klum's last name rhymes with va-va-va-voom? The sexiest mother in America has just kick-started the sexiest fashion show, like, ever and, let me just say, I'm, uh, already excited. The opening skit, in which Heidi insists she's just another working mom, is kind of lame, especially some bad special effects planting her kid on her back as she does sit-ups, but I'm secretly enjoying the way she's rubbing her body - perfect after three kids - in mothers' faces everywhere. You show 'em, Heidi!

ANTM #11-Goodbye Heather.....

Heather recalls how badly she did in her commercial segment. Jeenah starts saying that Heather should’ve been sent home. They get a Tyra mail, which specifies their next challenge; to do “go-sees.”, as the experienced Saliesha puts it. Before you know it, they are racing to see these designers, after getting a mouthful of Chinese from a Chinese model. Saliesha catches up with her designer, but he doesn’t like Saliesha. They don’t really “click”. Heather is struggling, but cannot find her “go see”. Chantal and a designer don’t hit it off, so its not only Saliesha who has bad luck with these designers. Bianca impresses a designer with her walk; they like her! Jeenah meets a designer, they hit it off. This is the one who hates all the others; but he likes Jeenah.

Heather is now struggling; she hasn’t seen one designer yet, but all the other models are on their second. Saliesha goes through it steadily. Heather gets to “go see #1”. Heather is embarrassed and has trouble with her walk and eye contact. Jeenah has problems connecting with her next “go see”. Bianca competes with Saliesha, and she is funny when referring to Saliesha as a bitch. Then Saliesha throws Bianca off. Jeenah is hating on Saliesha. Chantal and all the rest of the models get stuck in traffic. Heather loses her cabbie; and Jeenah laughs at her, as does Bianca.

Chantal gets left back, but finally gets back, and then Heather comes in. Saliesha and Bianca are the two finalists for the “go-see” challenge. The other girls try to give Heather encouragement. The girls go out to this restaurant which is hip and cool. Bianca was nervous, and Saliesha had the problem of her pictures looking the same. Bianca ends up winning the challenge, her first win on the show! Bianca now knows she will be the next top model! The next photo shoot will be with lions.

The models meet Jay and Saliesha gets nervous because Nigel, the judge, will be shooting pictures. The statement is made that the job of a model is to stand out from the crowd and make a statement. Bianca does braids on one of the other models. Nigel will be a judge, so this shoot is so important. Jeenah acts sarcastic with Nigel, and the other girls take note. Hasn’t this scenario happened before? Anyways, Jeenah has to be coached, but she just doesn’t have the energy. Saliesha does it right, and she is so confident. Bianca is looking mean, but she steps up. Chantal is forcing the pose, but improves. Heather decides just to “win it”, but her poses are unsure and she is second guessing herself. For Heather, its all mental. Chantal is freaking out at the thought of eliminations.

Eliminations:

Chantal-was 20 minutes late for her go see, was likable, but needs to wear nude underwear. She had strong photographs but they were too fixed, and she was too geeked over one compliment. They say she still “worked it out”.

Bianca- The challenge winner who booked 2 jobs! Her body language was strong, face was plain. She wasn’t fluid in her motions and she needs to relax. The judges were split on her pic though.

Jeenah-was 45 minutes late, and she needs to be personable, but was messy looking. She did really good fashion pic, but Nigel points out the sarcasm directed at him. He sasses her! She’s just got attitude, and they cant get past that.

Saliesha-Has a very good personality, and was Nigel’s first person to shoot. She had the best photo shoot! She’s just “edging on the steps of high fashion!”

Heather-was 40 minutes late, and only made one go-see. Miss Jay said she needs a “top model ass whopping.” Nigel said she is very stiff but the picture is good. She just needs to move for the camera.

In the end, it came down to Heather being eliminated. I hated to see her go, but although she had the ideal look and took great pictures, she just couldn’t handle all the other aspects of being a model. She needs to learn how to stand on her own two feet, be confident and get some experience.

ANTM #10-Goodbye to Lisa......

Video from Youtube!
The girls start out the show packing. Bianca as usual is hating on Heather, Lisa is discouraged, and they are leaving quick. But Heather is falling behind, moving really slow. They get all excited about their trip they are taking to China. Bianca even makes a statement that its exciting to be in China since everything is made in China! When they get to the building, they notice the apartment they are in is totally awesome. Heather is being too slow and didn’t even get to a bed. Saliesha and Heather go at it because Saliesha wants the big bed all to herself. Heather then proceeds to do what she usually does; freak out. The girls keep messing with her, especially a wise cracking Bianca!

Bianca says funny stuff about Heather and how others have to stand up for her because of her “disability or whatever”. The models then meet the Chinese photographer. The photographer does a fight with some other guy. The girls are then taught some basic martial arts. They go through the positions really fast, and they are just going too fast for Bianca, so she got “sour”. The models have to do the positions they were taught lifted up in the air. They are lifted with a bunch of ropes by the Chinese guys, and you can tell the pain and discomfort the models are experiencing. Lisa screams and carries on. Saliesha had fun with it! Bianca and Heather go up, and Heather rises to the occasion, while Bianca freaks out. Heather is helping Bianca, but Bianca just freezes up. Heather straight did it while Bianca was saying “I don’t wanna do this, I just want to model!” Heather wins a shopping spree and takes Chantal with her.

The first shoot is in Shanghai, and Jay emphasizes one thing; “Don’t try-do!” Lisa is determined to step her game up. Heather recognizes that she chokes up. The girls have to memorize a line. They do a line in a commercial shoot. Saliesha does good, mad energy and she hit it. Bianca does good but keeps messing up her line. She did do well in the end. Heather never gets it; and it gets to a point where Jay has to feed her the lines! She does alright. Jenah looked the part of a covergirl. Chantal did the next door girl thing. Lisa is so nervous, and gets all discouraged and upset because she focused on failing. She doesn’t perform. Lisa gets advise from Saliesha, but does not take it. At this point, I predict, Bianca and Lisa at the bottom 2. Heather says “I don’t want to go home.” What irony.

The eliminations:

Chantal is really cute, but wrinkles her nose. Her lesson is to learn to smile in the photos. The judgement on her is that she needs work.

Bianca was disqualified, and said she didn’t do the challenge of posing in the air because she doesn’t trust strangers. Her commercial was flawed and a mess, but they still saw her as “Black woman as queen”. She does need to smile though, and her commercial was weak!

Jenah just lacked charm, and wasn’t convincing, and her pictures were of a “queen of reckless abandon”. She wasn’t the best, and no better than before.

Saliesha looked beautiful, but she has to “watch her smile”. The judges say she has potential, and is getting better.

Heather was the challenge winner, but the TV commercial routine was a disaster! The question they asked themselves was “Can she hold it together?”

Lisa did a poor commercial, and was going to cry. The lesson in that was to let emotions go, and then work. Modeling industry is about constructive critique. They say she is wilted. In the end, she was sent home. Adios!

Quote:Naomi Campbell learns from mistakes!

"It's been a very interesting year. I've learned many lessons, like no more phones. In New York I'm the bad girl, I'm the good girl, I'm a controversial girl, and I've been through so much in this city,” the New York Post quoted her, as saying.

Britain's beauty industry accused of ignoring black and Asian women By Martin Hickman, Consumer Affairs Correspondent

Published 11/15/07

Black and Asian people are largely ignored by the £3bn-a-year beauty industry which concentrates on selling products to white women, a report says.

Few cosmetics giants produce ethnic ranges and few large retailers stock them, meaning that black and Asian women have to rely on outdated American imports and specialist shops.

Because the market in the US has changed little since the 1980s this leaves the emphasis on white teeth and big hair, a look "out of kilter" with today's young black and Asian women, says the market research company Mintel.

Overall, the market for black, Asian and other minority make-up, skin and haircare is £65m, 2 per cent of the £3.7bn British beauty industry, despite ethnic minorities comprising 7.9 per cent of the population. Black people trying to buy make-up, haircare and skincare products are being frustrated, the analyst Alexandra Richmond believes. She says: "A lack of new product developments on the part of the manufacturers as well as limited availability has undoubtedly been a major barrier in the ethnic beauty market.

"Although there are luxury beauty ranges for those with darker skin tones, mass-market alternatives on the high street are still few and far between."

The report also warns that companies are missing out on lucrative business and follows concern that ethnic minorities are under-represented in the visual industries of beauty, fashion and advertising.

Few black or Asian models stride down the fashion catwalk, with the high-profile exception of Naomi Campbell, according to the London Assembly member and former fashion executive Dee Doocey, who has called a summit next year to address the issue.

Non-white people make up more than 20 per cent of the population in London yet only 1 per cent of the models in the capital, according to one estimate.

The last census by the Institute of Advertising Practioners in 2003 found that only 4 per cent of people in adverts came from ethnic minorities. When black people do appear, they are often there to emphasis their ethnicity rather than to represent the general population. Ethnic minorities are also under-represented in creative roles at advertising agencies. Mintel says that interest in looks is universal in a modern media age where women feel compelled to make the best of themselves by investing in clothes and make-up. "However, amongst the black community, it goes much deeper," the report says.

Ethnic women have very different beauty needs because their complexions require specialist foundation and might also suffer more from pigmentation damage. Yet few major cosmetics companies have ethnic make-up ranges. Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Prescriptives all have foundations for darker skin in their general range. If the industry launched new products, the ethnic minority beauty business could surge in value by 35 per cent to £88m by 2012.

The industry is targeting anti-ageing creams for different age groups and shampoos for specific hair types to the general population. "There is clearly the potential for the industry to apply this approach to the ethnic beauty market, which would undoubtedly be welcomed by ethnic consumers and give the market a much needed boost," says Ms Richmond.

Ebony show celebrates 50 years of breaking barriers, launching careers

Excerpt from article on Ebony Fashion Fair:
"It was a breakthrough," Jackson says. "I didn't realize that there were African-American models of that stature. It was another indication that we could do things. You didn't have to be a teacher or a secretary or a nurse, which were the predominant professions for black women who were college-trained."

Jackson, 61, a principal leadership coach, will preside over the 50th Anniversary of the Ebony Fashion Fair in Detroit as general chair with the Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., which is hosting the show at the Max M. Fisher Music Center on Sunday.

In its 50 years, the Fashion Fair has raised more than $55 million for African-American organizations nationwide. Last year, the Detroit show raised more than $30,000 for scholarship and public service programs run by the Detroit chapter.

The girls start the show by speaking French (especially Bianca). Bianca is messing with Heather’s mind, and says to the camera that Heather is bound to have a “nervous breakdown” sooner or later.

In this next phase of the show, they will taught to be inspiring. They meet Benny Ninja at some model school. Their challenge is to be a “designer muse”. They are shown an ugly blue dress, and shown the designers they are to work with. Bianca isn’t feeling this exercise. Bianca starts out not being able to vibe with the designers, and neither was Heather. The designer sees Angela as a “party girl”. They are broken up and told they will have to see them at the runway show.

Bianca sees this as her time to shine. Ambrael is still trying to prove herself. Heather is seen as the one who takes incredible pics! The other girls are marveling at Heather and have much jealousy against her. Bianca hates the dress, and Heather hates the dress as well. They will be judged on how they “own it”. They are all walking down a runway. Bianca breaks down the whole “Cleapatra Jones” thing. Heather gets stage fright. Oh no! She is stuttering, and is very awkward. Ambrael does good, but she is just “too much” again. The models now get feedback. Jenah sold her dress beautifully. Lisa gets nervous and trips over her words. She messed up, and gets emotional. Chantal looks pissed off. Saliesha had real stage presence but did the “wink”. Ambrael stepped over the line, Bianca had too much attitude, Lisa needs confidence, Heather “didn’t want to be there”.
Bianca relished as Saliesha ended up being the winner of this challenge. Heather then starts to get emotional and cries; and the other girls try to encourage her. Saliesha brings Bianca and Lisa to the 17 Magazine photo shoot. The pictures are hot. The next Tyra note says that “the heat is on.” Lisa, Saliesha and Heather get into it over use of the shower. Heather’s acting all scary. Bianca starts messing with Heather. Funny.

Ambrael is talking to her Dad. The girls scream “road trip” and they are then taken to a dessert. Its really hot in the dessert. Jay is coming at them. They will be “models lost in the dessert.” They are made up and introduced to the photographer. Bianca does good when she is photographed. Heather is still sad, and when it is her turn to take a picture, she is looking very lost and awkward. Chantal is frustrated with the direction she is given, but does good. Saliesha just looks like a model, and she plays up the theme of “frustration”. Ambrael is posing, and gets it for once! Jenah looks really good in her shot. Lisa worried about producing a good shot, but didn’t work the garment.

Bianca talks to Heather, but she’s working her brain! Ambrael talks about how stuff is hard, and Heather is still geeked.

Time for eliminations:

Jenah did good on her pic, it was thought of as being fantastic, with the body language which was all over in a fantastic way. She was thought of as special and “great”.

Lisa had a dramatic picture but didn’t emphasize her body. The judges thought she was getting worse, going down the tubes, and not “fresh” anymore.

Saliesha had attitude in her pic, but it wasn’t striking, and she has to take more chances. She was thought to be drop dead gorgeous, and most aggressive.

Bianca has lots of attitude, shows dress well, and did a fashion picture. Bianca was confident, strong and amazing!

Chantal had the best picture to date. Legs looked longer. She’s pretty, but not a superstar; but has a Cheryl Tiegs look.

Heather was suprising in a joyous way, had a good shot, but wasn’t the best. She was mysterious, with her music video style shot.

Ambrael looked beautiful, but seemed to be hiding the clothes.

An oriental dragon came out, saying that “The lion told them they were going to China, but one will not be going.” That one turned out to be Ambrael. I liked her, but for these judges at this point, she just didn’t really have any way of convincing the judges she was up to par and deserved to be there. Hate to see a fellow Howard University student go down like that, but she had it coming. Oh well.

Interview w/Kami!

Kami is the sweetest model you will ever meet. With a beautiful smile and an awesome shape, Kami can make you smile and blush at the same time. What I like about Kami is the fact that not only is she extremely hot, but she also knows exactly where she is going in the modeling game. I've been a fan of hers ever since I first saw her, so I am glad I got the chance to interview this stunning queen. Just a warning though, her site Kami2hot.com is extremely hot so I recommend if for a mature audience! Check her out on Myspace, and get to know the sweet and lovely Kami!

First of all, where are you from and what city, state or town are you representing? DETROIT, MI

What are your measurements? 34c-27-40 5ft 8in 135 lbs green eyes and dark blonde hair ( for now; it may change by the end of the month lol)

Your look is really exotic. What is your ethnic background? Thank you :) I usually make it easy and say African american but I'm a melting pot lol...(on my maternal side ) jewish, french, japanese.... ( on my paternal side) african american & native american (cherokee & blackfoot)

Why did you want to become a model? It started out as a hobby simply to break me out of being so shy by forcing me to deal with situations & people i wouldn't have encountered.. my fear of embarrassment supersedes my shyness

What do you bring to the modeling field or game? Persistence, dedication, versatility and flexibility.. sad to say though these attributes should be a given in this industry, i've personally have witnessed on different assignments where they're a rarity:( its a shame when you do what suppose to , it actually makes you a standout

What do you like to do in your free time? Think and set in motion different ways to expand my future empire lol ...seriously, i enjoy writing, crocheting, cooking and reading as well as mastering different computer programs

Where is your favorite vacation spot? Jamaica.. its absolutely beautiful there

I’m sure the fellas will want to know-are you single or taken? I'm very much single *wink*

What kind of man do you prefer; Wall Street executive or hat to the back thug? Wall street executive...i have very little patience for immaturity.. its cool to be laid back sometimes, but hanging on the corner with your boys wth your pants resting below your waist, grabbing your crotch shooting the breeze about how you're going to blow the rap game wide open or be the next Kobe faithfully every day like it's your job is not cool at 20, 25 and definitely not 30.. grow up!

What was your first kiss like? I had my first kiss at 15.. it was nice.. i only did it to see what it would felt like.. coincidentally it was a french kiss lol.. i did pretty well because the guy didn't want to stop afterwards lol

Another question Im sure the fellas will want to know, what are you most likely to wear to the beach? The skimpiest bikini possible or if i'm lucky, nude. To bed? nude or topless depending on how hot it is.. To the club, if you go to clubs? something cute that shows my legs & skin off as much as possible...what can i say? i'm a minimalist lol

What is your most defining feature? I would say my legs.. i try to show them off as much as possible plus they're long and toned.. definitely attention getters.. a close second would be my rear end.. its not exceptionally big but it can hold its own and has a nice shape lol

Being as beautiful as you are, you must get alot of attention day to day. How do you deal with all that attention? I know you probably get this response a lot but i don't.. i'm a homebody.. When I do venture out although I'm not as shy as i once was,i still don't like to draw attention to myself constantly unless I'm working a modeling job (conventions, hosting a party, promotions, etc) where its required.. I've been told that my quiet demeanor is often viewed by guys as intimidating which i'm trying to work on.

What's the worst opening line you have heard? "aye bay bay".. any guy that approaches with that immediately gets a deaf ear.. i don't care what you have to say after that..i freaking hate that song! and calling me "boo" won't get you anywhere either

When you model, what settings do you like to do the most? I'm not picky.. as long as the team keep a friendly atmosphere going, there can be music blasting or the place can be as quiet as a church mouse, i'm good:)

If you had a choice, what magazine would you be on the cover of? It would have to be a tie between Playboy & my own publication..no as a matter of fact, scratch that; definitely my own lol which will be coming out in 2008.. cop it!

What is your favorite part about being a model? The traveling and interaction with people from different walks of life.. i was extremely sheltered as a child so it has and still continues to be quite an adventure!

What are your goals in terms of being a model? I want to be known as a "brand" not a model.. once i decided to take my modeling career seriously, its always been my goal to use it as a springboard to showcase my other talents which will be reflected in the projects i have forthcoming later this year and next..

Who do you prefer, Tyra or Naomi? Naomi.. she may have a bad rep but her walk is fierce and she dominates the room with her presence when she enters

Can you give a rundown of all the sites you are on? Kami2hotcom.html tkmexclusive.com ,eyecandymodeling.com

Anything else you want to throw out there to the people?
If you haven't already, subscribe to my blog on myspace ( http://myspace.com/kami2hot ) to stay abreast of all my upcoming projects because i can guarantee you'll be seeing and hearing a LOT about me in the months to come

I’m glad that I got a chance to catch up with you, so for my last question, I want you to sum up your style and yourself with one word..... One word.. wow.. i'll have to go with "enigmatic" because you never know what i'm up to or thinking until i decide to reveal it

ANTM episode#7: Sarah's outta there!

The show starts with Bianca talking about the recently departed (from the show) Ebony, and then all the girls talk about Ebony; all the while Ambrael starts to see the situation as a second chance for her. As they are sitting in a pool, Bianca is messing with Heather because she’s hatin’. Heather makes an interesting point; modeling is art with the body. Bianca is still messing with her, and the other girls are wondering why.

Tyra does the mail and she quotes that song “This is why Im hot.” They all get dressed in a leotard. Tyra does an imitation of Debbie Harry from the movie “Fame”, talking about how they will have to “work”. She’s teaching them to be “model sexy”, and how to walk the runway properly. They all start doing the runway walk with Tyra. Then, she goes on to teach the models to hug themselves and act all silly for the camera. They go on to do a “slide down the wall” routine. Heather starts to look possessed. Lisa gets sexy down, but she needs to work her muscles. Now they gotta crawl. Tyra wants that direct approach, but Chantal isn’t pushing all the way. Bianca is holding back, and though she hates on Heather again, Tyra loves what Heather does. She says that Heather has “magic”, and that she should just be beautiful and use her loveliness.

In the next Tyra mail, they are told they will be sharing the spotlight with a musician! The models meet Jessy Terrero, the video director. They will be put into the video with multi-platinum artist Enrique Inglesias. Saliesha is all geeked by him. Enrique is looking for personality and how they are in front of the camera. They all dress up half naked and funky to be picked for the video. They’re all looking for that “Gothic” look. But where is Heather?

Commercial break, and then Lisa is picked to be the lead girl for the video. She had the right vibe and look, and she is just tall! Then Heather got picked for the other starring part in the video. They do the video, and midway Heather questions herself. Chantal was very stiff, and didn’t “own” it. Ambrael did the wall thing Tyra taught in the previous session in this show, and though she did good, she kept on talking about not belonging. Lisa did her part very well. Bianca and Saliesha were sexy and flirty in a classic model way, but the line between “video vixen” and model are blurred. The girls are really tired after a long day on the video set. Heather starts really tripping out, fainting and stumbling, and having a hard time breathing. Medics get to Bianca, and I was surprised that video sets had medics! Saliesha attributes Heather’s falling out to Heather not being able to really get down and party all night! Bianca says that Heather can’t possibly live the model’s life; she’ll end up with a nervous breakdown. Before you know it, it’s time for elimination. Ambrael is feeling defeated, and Jenah is just so unsure.

Evaluations summarized:

Lisa-star of the video, was great and she nailed it. The camera loves her, and she popped off!

Ambrael-She was “hoochie” in front of the camera, licked her lips, connected with the camera but fell flat. She is not a top model.

Saliesha-Eye contact was good, she worked it!

Sarah-Was looking embarrassed about being plus sized; her focus is too much on the “plus size” issue.

Jenah-She isn’t in control of her “sexy”; in the video she was smiling but not looking the part, and she was better playing the part in the critique.

Heather-Was piercing; a lil off, but stepped up.

Chantal-Holding back; she’s modeling but not acting. She was stiff, and fell flat.

Bianca-Had confidence, but didn’t make it fluid, had a “fat ass” confidence.

The last two girls were Chantal and Sarah; Chantal’s performance was a waste of film, and Sarah’s plus size thing was overwhelming. Sarah is cut. She was crying hard!

ANTM-Episode #6:Goodbye Ebony!

The girls are in the house, Ebony is talking about trying to lighten up, Ambrael talking to her dad about being in the bottom 2 and all, and Bianca and Heather talk about Heather’s unhealthy habit of beating herself up. Bianca gives her “advice” and then in comes male supermodel Tyson to the house, and the girls get all excited. Ebony was all into Tyson, and the girls grab stuff and demonstrate spokesperson delivery, and they get all corny. Heather impresses Tyson, Ambrael gets Tyson to eat a mango, and they all get geeked and crazy on him.

At the studio, they get introduced to the PSA client. The models have to be spokespersons for the AIDS in Africa AIDS awareness campaign, with posters that read “I am African”. They all demonstrate the spokesperson in the PSA; Ebony’s group is energetic, Bianca’s group is relying too much on Bianca for the ideas, and Ambrael’s group is sleepy.

Team #1-They had a hot idea, but they messed up the lines and messed up the charity’s name.

Team #2- They did surprisingly well, but there was no life in the PSA.

Team#3-There PSA was the best, but they got the objective of the charity wrong, so Team #2 gets picked!

Heather gets picked in the end for a photo shoot with Mary J Blige. Mary, looking kinda hot in this scene, is the director. She compliments Heather, saying she could be a top model! In the next scene, the models are eating food in the closet because its cold in the house. Ebony say’s she’s ready to go, but Bianca is trying to work her eyes. When Heather gets home after the Mary J shoot, the other models are asking a bunch of questions, and Bianca is “baffled” at her success.

The next photo shoot is a high fashion editorial about recycling, and they meet the photographer. As the shooting commences, Jay says that with Heather, the judges will be shocked. Sarah, Jay says, looks like a “heap of garbage”, which for the shoot might be a good thing! But he’s just kidding. He wants Saliesha to “take a risk”, and Ebony needs to get more happy, but she’s trampish and uninspiring. The lackluster Jenah listens to advice. Bianca, who was really oily, is smiling with her eyes, and was “dead on”. Lisa, who uses her limbs, did a good job. Ambrael, who is trippen off being in the bottom 2, looks inexperienced, boring, and uninspiring. She’s got the innate sensibility, but keeps on getting psyched out!

Eliminations:

Saliesha: Picture was her best shoot, the 2nd best at that. She’s raising the bar, showing her neck, and she’s all psyched. The judges say she’s improving and she wants it.

Jenah: She had an “attitude” in the shot, but it was a good fashion shot. The judges say she is “sensational”.

Ambrael: She’s dead in her eyes, has to right the wrong and be comfortable. The judges say she’s “nice”.

Lisa: This wasn’t their favorite shot from her; and she needs to take more chances. The judges say she needs to take “Model 101”

Bianca: She’s too stiff, but her face is stunning, and Tyra likes what she is doing with the eyes. The judges say she’s “coming to her own”.

Sarah: She doesn’t look high fashion, and she is losing weight! Since she was picked to be reppin’ the “full figured” set, the judges notice that she is losing weight and don’t like it!

Ebony: Her pic was like yuck! I didn’t like it, but I like her. She got a cute ass LOL. The judges say that she “doesn’t want to be here.”

Chantal: There are mixed reviews on her picture. The judges say “the wind machine took over.”

Heather: What can anybody say? She just can’t do wrong! The judges say “she took the best picture”.

Ebony and Ambrael are in the bottom 2; but though Ambrael is picked to be eliminated, Ebony backs out of the show entirely. The pressure got the best of her. The judges were right-she didn’t want to be there!

ANTM-episode #5-Janet out!

The sixth episode starts with a recap of last episode, and then we see the girls talking in a van. Saliesha is talking about stepping up her game. Janet is talking about how she feels she is at a disadvantage, with her being so short and curvy. Heather is all of a sudden now critiquing people! Ambrael is singing, and the girls are going ewwww…..! Lisa thought she was perfect, but instead she is insecure. The next Tyra mail has a message; spring forward, fall back!

The girls hook up with the infamous Benny Ninja! The challenge is for the girls to convey emotion in the air, jumping on a trampoline. The girls are just awkward; like Janet, who tries to pose, but her body hurts and she’s so uncomfortable. Bianca and Ebony are the most awkward, but Saliesha and Chantal totally work it. Heather falls on her butt. Ambrael teaches the girls some things, but Lisa held back and just didn’t have confidence in herself. The girls then run around the house nude, making the show look like summer camp!

Benny Ninja now brings the girls to an ice rink; but rather than having to skate, they have to pose in the air on ice. The models become scared; how well will they do in their poses? They will be given an emotion they have to convey in their pose. Dani, the prior ANTM winner, gives them advice. Janet’s anger emotion was weak. Jenah hit sorrow! Sarah was anger. Bianca had the best smile, which made her stand out. Chantal had joy. Heather just couldn’t pull any emotion off, and her body just would not cooperate. Lisa did sorrow, and did it well, resulting in Bianca hatin’. Saliesha, Ebony and Ambrael did very well. But, Ambrael was smiling too much, Heather defeated herself, and Ebony’s sorry was corny! The winner of the skate emotion challenge is Lisa! She shares her reward with Janet and Ebony. The other girls didn’t take this well at all.

Lisa and her friends end up doing the photoshoot for Akademiks, and the pics are said to be “hot”. The girls get back and the other models are viscous in their hate. They hit Lisa hard. The next Tyra mail comes, and the message is “Never look down.” This will involve heights, and Ambrael doesn’t do heights at all! The models get to the roof of a big building, and Ambrael gets geeked when she gets to the top. Jay comes to the roof, and he says that they will reach “new heights” in high fashion (pun intended). The models are to take pics as gargoyles like the ones you see on buildings. Heather’s confidence is high; because she’d make a great gargoyle. Jenah does good, but Jay wonders why she is holding up her hand like she’s a waitress or something. Janet didn’t get the purpose behind the photo shoot, Saliesha is too “men’s magazine”, Chantal did “so good” and Bianca turned it out! Lisa was thinking about what to do too much, and Ambrael was just trippen’! She’s too monotonous in her facial expressions. Ebony is just so one dimensional, but does a hot photo. In the end, Lisa knows she’ll be called first, but Ambrael is anxious…now its time for eliminations.

Ebony is self conscious, and not projecting confidence; its like she is forced to smile. She needs to be more natural.

Chantal does a good picture, despite the fact that she has too much leg.

Ambrael is seen as robotic and comedic, but not high fashion.

Sarah just didn’t hit the “gargoyle” look at all; and her pics were totally average, and missed the point.

Bianca had the best photo, in that she was selling something emotionally invested in the photo, and sold it!

Janet was very intense, and called to mind Liza Minelli.

Lisa had a great body shape, and her face had such intensity, and was scary even! Tyra picked up on her sadness!

Heather is in her “comfort zone”, and needs to take picture showing the other side of her face.

Jenah is being a different Jenah! She’s extraordinary, but raggedy.

Saliesha, though she is looking more “hip hop”, has the potential and confidence to be a top model.

In the end, they let Janet go. That whole Liza Minneli thing she had going just wasn’t working.

Model Music-Amerie CD review

I’ve always been a fan of Amerie since I brought her first album “All I Have”, I’ve always dug this model, singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and actress. When I first heard “Why Don’t We Fall In Love”, I was impressed with her combination of confidence and beauty. That album and her second album, Touch, were defined by slick, marketable production, and each had two songs which I heard on the radio frequently when they were released. Her image on the first album for me was that sexy model/singer dealing with looking hot; like in “Talkin’ to Me” she deals with a guy who can’t talk to her so she has to read his body language to see that he likes her. On the second album she’s trying to break out of that goody two shoes image in songs like “Touch”. Again, we see how hard it is being Amerie; she wants guys to holler at her and for them to see her wild side, but she’s hot and guys are too scared to talk to her! This theme, along with her other recurring themes of being a flygirl lookin’ for love and dealing with relationships and wanting some passion in her life, are further explored on her new album, “Because I Love It”.

On her second album there was go-go, hip hop and even some “crunk” on it. On “Because I Love It”, Amerie seems to abandon the simple formulas that worked on her first two albums (which may be because she didn’t work with the same producer on this one) and enlists a whole guest list of producers who dig in the crates and really funk this album up. This album amazes me because not only does she seem to consistently recognize the old school of funk, r&b and hip hop, but she shows her more soulful side in the singing as well. I was surprised to see that she had a song on here that was produced in 1975 by Curtis Mayfield, a track so obscure I was surprised I didn’t know about it. Then there were samples of Issac Hayes and even Willie Hutch! This approach by Amerie is a bold and daring move on her part to make a somewhat non-commercial, personal record like this one.

Being a big fan of old school hip hop from the early 80’s, I was curious when I read that she sampled “World’s Famous” by the World’s Famous Supreme Team, which is one of my favorite old school hip hop tracks. She takes the song and does a simple, flirty rap to a guy too scared to talk to her, letting him know he needs to step up his game because she’s waiting, she’s hot, and his time is running out! It may piss off some hip hop purists, but to me it’s cute. It falls between Nenah Cherry’s “Buffalo Stance” (which sampled the same groups song “Buffalo Gals” and Mariah Carey’s “Honey”, which sampled “Hey DJ”, another one of the group’s classics. I listened to that song a couple of times after first hearing it.

Amerie’s theme’s on this album include that ever recurring theme of all her work-finding true love. She explores different aspects of that theme, and she seems to go deeper on this album. “Take Control” has her telling her man he has to be a man, and take control! On “Gotta Hold Back”, she is the most soulful that I have ever heard her, and I was surprised when I heard this song how she can really sing from the heart. “Crush” has her singing about that guy she just can’t get over, and “Crazy Wonderful” is about passion towards that guy again. “That’s What U R” has a hot beat that could’ve been rapped over. “Paint Me Over” has a sample by another favorite artist of mine, Willie Hutch”. “Somebody Up There” would’ve been a good song for the radio. Before the “bonus” cuts, she ends the album with the interesting “All Roads”. This song had lyrics directed toward a “guiding light”, making me wonder; was it gospel, or another song about a man? After listening to it a couple times, I concluded that it was up to the individual to decide.

This album was not easy to find. It wasn’t available on ITunes, it was sold as an import on Amazon, and I think I was lucky to find it in the record store. I read some reviews of the album in Vibe, and I waited and waited until the album would be available on ITunes. However, I found out from the fan written bio of Amerie on Wikipedia that the album was released in Europe in May 2007, but there was no definitive U.S. release date. Between my two sources, no definite reason for this could be found, and it’s weird to me that an established commercial artists like Amerie was released in Europe before being released here. I can only guess that since she took a different route artistically and in the production of the album that the industry execs screwed her up by not giving her a well marketed or promoted release in the U.S. Oh well, Amerie’s my girl and despite what haters might say about her, I think she put out an excellent album and it should get the marketing push it deserves.

Buy the album on Amazon! Check out Amerie's official site.

ANTM-episode #4 recap; Victoria out.....

SHOW #4 starts with a makeover, referred to as a “metamorphisis”! Chantal gets real nervous about the whole idea of a makeover. The girls are shown laser images of themselves after a makeover. Some of the images are funny-Ambrael has almost no hair, Biance is given a long gold black weave, Sarah is given the “strong face short hair” look and Victoria is given an “edgy long hair” look. All the girls get shown their new hairstyles, which are meant to “re-define” them before the next photoshoot.

The reactions to the makeover are mixed. Bianca thinks she’ll look like a “street walker”, Victoria is real happy, Ebony is feeling “lonely and sad”, Heather wasn’t too excited, Janet feels happy and confident, Ambrael looks ravishing, Jenah’s hair is not “edgy”. Bianca’s new style was changed, and she wasn’t a happy camper. Lisa looks like a poodle. Ebony’s braids are tight. Bianca starts to cry when Jay suggests a new style, and starts saying she feels “defeated”. Despite the beef between Bianca and Saliesha, who gets a fly style that makes her look like Rihanna, Saliesha feels bad for Bianca.

Bianca’s hair got all cut off, and Miss J is totally messing with her because she’s almost bald! Bianca is whining about being in the bottom 2 and now losing her hair. Saliesha said that her head is swollen but she’s “fierce”. They then do the photo shoot. Models are now showing off their new looks, and they are so “high fashion”. The models find out they are to do a runway show introducing the Covergirl.com online makeup mirror. Now all the girls crowd around the mirror, and frantically apply what the mirror tells them to. Then they all go down a runway. Sarah is the winner with her “winged eye”, who will be in the web ad.

The girls find out their next assignment, which involves getting naked! The girls go to the mountain to meet Jay. The girls are to get photographed as flowers. How do they do? Saliesha isn’t comfortable, and needs more variety. Ambrael is a rose with an arched foot. Victoria is the cactus, but she thinks it is strange, doing what she usually does, which is overthinking. Ebony was good as the bird of paradise. Chantal was the baby’s breath, but she get’s frustrated, breaks down, and keeps on wishing they’d shut up!

On elimination, they are judged on the photo shoot and their performance:

Saliesha as the tulip is confident, but her tulip is wilted, and the “high fashion” isn’t translating. Big disappointment!

Victoria as the cactus has too much attitude, no personality, is too poised and those wrinkles on her neck stand out! Poor attitude!

Sarah as the ivy just turned into an ivy with her modeling. Losing weight?

Lisa as the bamboo displays a beautiful “modelesque” fashion shoot. Too safe, no danger!

Jenah as the moss took risks and chances. She is just turning out pic after pic!

Janet as the “hydrangea” showed the biggest improvement, but need to be fluid. Too “men’s magazine”

Ambrael as the rose had a “dead face” but a good body that showed. Wilted!

Heather as a weed had one of the better pics. Check out her eyes!

Bianca as the sunflower looks like a model, but is too stiff and uncomfortable, showing a different kind of beauty. Strongest look.

Chantal as the baby’s breath complained about the direction too much. Not a model gene in her body.

After the evaluations, the cut is made….Victoria is outta here. Too much under confidence, complaining, and too much attitude. See ya!

Alek Wek: model on a mission

I find really inspiring the story of model Alek Wek:

Picture from Timesoline.co.uk

Yet the story Wek is here to tell beats any amount of nightclub lowlife. Her book on her escape from the Sudanese civil war in 1991 has earned her a very different kind of media attention. At the age of 30, when many models peer gloomily into the mirror each morning and wonder if they will ever stride another catwalk, Wek has become so busy she really doesn’t care how many fashion shows she misses.

“I did those shows for so long to establish my career,” she said. “But I’m not going to spend forever running around with 17 and 18-year-old models. This is about me evolving as a person”.

ANTM 9 ep3 part1

Found this on Youtube!

ANTM recap episode #3

After the theme song and the introduction of the models, the opening scene has the models practicing their walks. Kimberly who’s from a small town practices her walk; and Bianca gives the naïve Kimberly bad tips for walking. Bianca is getting on my nerves. Of course, Heather is feeling insecure, Saliesha is helping but Bianca is again just hatin’ on Heather now because she’s doing better than her. Bianca and Saliesha talk about the “signature” walk, now Bianca’s hatin’ on Saliesha. In the fashion “madhouse”, Miss Jay scares the girls with a nurses outfit. She says she will give them high fashion in the form of straight jackets. They gotta walk in these straight jackets! Victoria has to walk as though she has endured, but Jenah get’s freaked out. The models are told; put more face in it! Heather gets embarrassed!

The girls gotta come harder, stronger, with their walks in the straight jackets. Bianca gets clowned by Miss Jay with her exaggerated poses, but then Bianca sees Saliesha walk and she says its “too commercial”. Bianca has personality, Saliesha got the experience, Kimberly claims she just has the experience of her dad taking her pics. Saliesha and Bianca go at it; catfight! Bianca loves to start stuff. Sarah understands Bianca; but before the commercial break, Bianca says “Don’t let the red hair fool you, I can be high fashion”.

The Tyra mail comes and the girls will be doing the Catour fashion show with Roy Campbell. The designer tells the girls they will be going to Paris. Bianca and Saliesha are now in it to win it! Ambrael loves the adrenaline rush of the runway. Jenah’s dress was hard to walk in. Victoria remains the lovable “nerd”. Heather is nervous. Ebony bumps Sarah on the runway accidentally. Saliesha is nervous despite the experience she says she has. Kimberly is excited. The fashion show ends, and feedback is given. Heather is elegant, but has neck issues. Saliesha has good movement. Bianca looks too mean. Kimberly was empty. Ebony was reprimanded for bumping into Sarah. Saliesha comes out the winner! Bianca is hating even more.

After another commercial break, another Tyra mail comes, which this time addresses learning the “ropes of fashion”. Jay shows the models a rope course. The photographer is Matthew Jordan Smith. The purpose of this shot is for the models to take pictures while hanging on some ropes. Lisa is afraid of heights and the rope gets to her, but she works through it. Janet is in touch but it’s hard for her. Saliesha was, as Jay put it, giving “model on a wire”, but she let go, and excelled. Bianca has to take creativity to the next level, but it’s “forced”. Victoria brings her “supernerdy”, and acts all weird anyway. Ambrael is “stunning”, but Chantal has Jay frowning. Ebony is trippin’ off being in the bottom two in the last show, it’s getting to her. Sarah realizes she has to take charge of this rope thing. Kimberly has to step out the box, but her “stepping” has Jay wondering. It was “interesting”, Jay says. After the rope challenge is over, its on to the next elimination.

As always, its tense, so in the final jugement they look at the rope shots and get to the final judgements. Heather once again delivers a great picture. Janet photos beautifully. For Ebony, the whole experience is deemed “too much for her”. Kimberly is of no fashion value, she’s too “hoochie”. Chantel has some brilliant eyes. Sarah is not perfect but her picture has a “unique” perspective. For Lisa, she did a “brave” shot. Saliesha is seen as “very brave” and amazing. Bianca, on the other hand, just doesn’t have “it”. Victoria is getting’ to Twiggy and driving Miss Jay cuckoo! Ambrael is not seen as a model, but her photo is confident, cool and elegant. Jenah is brilliant, and a great talent. In the end, the model to go is Kimberly. Crying, she laments that she is embarrassed by her pics. Tyra gives her encouragement, and Kimberly will do what she can to make it. Not on this show, but somewhere, I guess.

Why are all the models white?

At this season's fashion shows, there has barely been a black or Asian face on the catwalks. Hadley Freeman reports from Paris on the whitewashing of the catwalk! Check it out on Guardian!

A disturbing problem has appeared on the catwalks this season. It is one that suggests the fashion industry has not just a warped but a fully offensive mentality when it comes to judging how women should look. It is a problem that has been simmering for some time, but because talking about it might offend the designers and scare off lucrative advertising accounts, hardly anyone has spoken out - and things have only got worse. We now have a situation that could lead to serious problems not only for some models, but for the public as a whole, making millions of women feel ugly, undesirable and simply wrong. And no, this is not about weight - it's about race.
